Spring has sprung and the weather in Florida is right on season! Chilly mornings give way to warm afternoons, and then evenings with a slight cool breeze. It’s lovely. I always tell people that May and October is one of the best months of the year to visit Florida.
Warm spring afternoons have me dreaming of beach days and summer sun dresses! Let’s take a look at 10 fashion trends for Summer this year!
10 Summer Trends
- Summer Black– All black for summer! It sounds a bit strange, but I personally love it. I’ve always been a fan of all black. Pair a black tank top with black bottoms. Try a black bodysuit with black flare jeans. So hot!
- Fringe– A touch of fringe never hurt right?! I mean a touch. Let’s not over do it with fringe. Look for pieces that have a bit of fringe. Examples, a dress with fringe on the hem or a bag with fringe trim.
- Cobalt Blue– This color was on display at King Charles’ coronation. So many beautiful women were dressed in cobalt blue.
- Puff Slides– These remind me of my high school and college days in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Everyone and I mean everyone had a pair of black Steve Madden puff slides. If you are a lover of 90’s and early 2000’s fashion, you need a pair of puff slides. They look super cute with shorts and skirts, and they are so comfy!
- Mermaid Core– This fashion trend for Spring & Summer has me smiling! Pastels, light sequins, and ombre are all trending and when you put them together you get Mermaid Core! Add some mermaid-y accessories! Or go full mermaid with a teal, shimmery set like this!
- Metallic Bags– I love metallic bags and metallic shoes. I particularly love to wear all black and accessorize with metallic shoes and a metallic bag. Metallic makes a great neutral.
- Lace– I love lace! It appeals to my romantic/historian side. Lace details will be very popular this Spring and Summer and will move into Fall and Winter. Look for blouse’s with lace details on the sleeves and collars.
- Raffia and Straw Accessories– I love this trend! Add a raffia or straw bag to complete your summer outfit!
- Neutral Sandals– This one is easy. Kill two birds with one stone and get a neutral pair of puff sandals like these!
- Tennis Inspired Active Wear– Check out Varley (share Varley collage). Also, try a cute skort for running around or working out.
As I always say, the best way to handle trends is to add one or two to an outfit built around basics. This approach keeps your outfits fresh, while also looking classic and chic. Keep your wardrobe well stocked with basics and cycle trends and out seasonally! It’s the easiest way to be chic! It’s actaully a bit like keeping a well stocked pantry, and cycling in seasonal fruits and vegetables.
