Cottagecore is enjoying major popularity right now! I like to say “I’ve been Cottagecore since before it was a term!” It’s true; if you know me, you know. I LOVE the aesthetic and love that my quirky style not only now has a name, but a huge following!
What is Cottagecore?
Cottagecore is about romanticizing a simpler time in history. It’s sort of like taking all the good from the Pre-Industrial Revolution age and ignoring all the messy, dirty, and deadly stuff. The trend includes gardening, drinking tea, DIY crafting, raising farm animals (think backyard chickens), and cooking/baking from scratch. It’s also got it’s own look! Dresses that have historical elements, such as lace up bodices, cap sleeves, and full skirts are everywhere now!
Elements of a Cottagecore Dress
A Cottagecore dress will usually be maxi or midi length. Sleeves will usually be cap sleeve, puffy, or 3/4 lenghth. Other common features include; lace, a tailored bodice, a lace up bodice, a full skirt, pastels, florals, and buffalo check. Fabric is often cotton and you may find some sheerness. Don’t forget your hat and flower gathering basket!
Where to buy Cottagecore Dresses
Designer Lena Hoschek’s brand is the ultimate Cottagecore brand. Her pieces are made to order, ultra feminine, and sustainable. The price point is high, dresses starting around $700. However, these are pieces that you will have forever, and could even be passed from mother to daughter. To get a Lena dress for a lower price point, check out The Real Real or Vestaire Collection.
This Georgia boutique has an incredible selection of dresses. Including, tons of Cottagecore styles. Prices range from under $100 to over $500. It’s a great place to shop regardless of your budget! Here are a few super cute Cottagecore dresses that I found!
Anthropologie
I’ve shopped for Cottagecore style dresses at Anthropolgie, since before Cottagecore even had a name. This brand has always carried well made pieces with tons of Cottegecore elements. Lace, full skirts, and embroidery are just some of the elements you’ll find with dresses carried by Anthropologie.

Baltic Born is an online retailer with tons of trendy and Cottagecore finds! The price point is under $100! I found some really pretty Cottagecore dresses in blue and white! Blue and white is such a classic Cottagecore color scheme.
Agua by Agua Bendita
This is a Latin American brand, from Columbia. The brand is owned by two women, who create dreamy pieces inspired by the natural beauty of their home country. It’s a brand with a high price point, but a girl’s gotta dream from time to time!
Lulus
Lulus is a California based brand that offers what they call “affordable luxury”. I had so much fun picking Cottagecore dresses from their huge selection.
Neve and Noor
The word “obsessed” describes how I feel about this London based brand. The style are femine, perfectlly proportioned, and have such natural movement. The price is a bit high- ranging from $200- $400.
Shein
Yes, it’s “fast fashion” and the brand doesn’t represent my personal values; but I realize that their price point is accessible to all. Therefore, I’d be remisce not to share some of their pretty dresses. Shein has a TON of Cottagecore dresses.
Free People
Free People is an old standard for me! I’ve loved this brand since my early 20s. The vibe is a bit more Bohemian than Cottagcore; but the two are so closely related. So, if you lean a bit towards the more Bohemian than traditional then Free People is the perfect place for you to shop Cottagecore dresses.
Nora Lee
This brand features Cottagecore style dress in beautiful cotton floral print fabric. The pieces have a vintage feel, made with muted colors and natural fibers. If you’re looking for Mommy and Me styles, they have them!
